Free style – Macgyver – Chocolate Chips Studio
May 25, 2020
It is actually fun when young artists free style. Before it becomes a product, music is a social activity. In Macgyver’s free style here I heard interesting ideas about money but what really left an impression on my heart is how the youngsters were enjoying themselves.
#Streetwise takes us to Chocolate Chips Studios one of the small establishments where young Zimbabweans try their luck in the music industry. This is the home of Mr Siyabvuma (Elder Siyaz) who set up the studio with the intention of promoting his own sons’s talents.
Mrs Siyabvuma says she joined CHIPAWO (Children Performing Arts Workshop) when she was young but her parents cut short her career in the performing arts. It is common for parents to discourage children from venturing in the arts industry. When Mrs Siyabvuma recognized her children’s talents and keen interest in the art, she sought to correct “the mistake” her own parents made when they forced her to forgo the training and opportunities at CHIPAWO. She and her husband Elder Siyaz set up Chocolate Chips Studios under a company name they already had.
