Love Bubbles – Real connection, or just fleeting sparks?

Chido paced her living room, replaying her last few relationships in her mind. Was there any real connection or just fleeting sparks? The more she thought about it, the more confused she became. A chill ran down her spine as she realized she might have been mistaking infatuation for something deeper. Her conversation with Sarah from earlier in the day had awakened an unsettling feeling. The more she thought about it, the more she realized she still had questions about distinguishing between initial excitement and a genuine connection. She picked up her phone, her finger hovering over Sarah’s contact.

With a deep breath, she dialed the number.

“Hey Sarah, it’s me,” Chido began.

There was a pause on the other end. “Hey Chido, how’s it going?” Sarah’s voice was warm and inviting.

“I’ve been thinking about what we talked about earlier,” Chido confessed. “I know we said we’d talk more on Monday, but I can’t stop thinking about it.”

Sarah chuckled. “No worries, I’m glad you’re thinking about it. So, what’s on your mind?”

Chido took a deep breath. “I’m still trying to figure out how to tell the difference between that initial spark and a real connection.”

“It’s a tricky one,” Sarah admitted. “But there are a few things to look out for. First, is it just physical attraction, or is there a genuine interest in each other’s lives? Second, do you feel like you can be yourself around this person, or are you constantly putting on a facade? And lastly, do you feel supported and valued, or is it all about what you can do for them?”

Chido nodded, even though Sarah couldn’t see her. “That makes sense. It’s like there’s a checklist or something.”

Sarah laughed. “Not exactly a checklist, but it’s a good starting point. It’s also important to remember that relationships evolve. What starts as a spark can grow into something deeper, but it takes time and effort from both people.”

“I see,” Chido replied, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. “I definitely want to talk more about this. Can we still meet up on Monday?”

“Absolutely,” Sarah said. “Let’s grab coffee and continue this conversation.”

As Chido hung up the phone, she felt a sense of clarity. She knew there was still a lot to learn, but having Sarah’s guidance made the journey feel less daunting.
