Driverless tractors – sci-fi movies now play out in real life farms…

Spread the love

Imagination usually precedes great strides in technology. Sci-fi movies have not only entertained us but helped to tell tales of a future not yet achieved. As it stands, what we previously saw as the future of mankind is slowly becoming the history of mankind. In particular, driverless tractors will be reshaping farm labor as we know it. Autonomous tractors can work on the field while a supervisor remotely controls or monitors them on a computer.

“Early on, Paul Allen and I set the goal of a computer on every desk and in every home. It was a bold idea and a lot of people thought we were out of our minds to imagine it was possible,” Gates wrote. “It is amazing to think about how far computing has come since then, and we can all be proud of the role Microsoft played in that revolution.”

Even though the idea of an unmanned tractor is not new, it has become more successful now. Technological advancements, including 5G networks, will improve the feasibility of the innovation. While drones are already helping in monitoring large pieces of farm land from above, driverless tractors traverse the earth.
